Bristol welcomes new Community Engagement Officer

Abode Living is delighted to welcome on board another Community Engagement Office, Brandusa Rotaru - known as Brandy, to support tenants in its Bristol scheme.

This follows the successof a similar role in other locations such as Crawley, which has seen huge engagement, the foundation of strong

community partnerships and increasing levels of positivity amongst tenants.

The community in Bristol has over 470 tenants, placed by the Local Authority, and Abode has appointed Brandy to further integrate people living there with

each other, as well as support them across three core pillars of mental & physical wellbeing, education & skills and children support.

Brandy joins with eight years of volunteering, care, therapy and education experience. In her role she will be delivering events programmes for tenants and partnering with local support services and businesses to help engage the wider community with the development and tenants.

So far, a foodbank drive has been set up on site with weekly coffee mornings which saw 80 tenants participate in the first week alone. Education, skills workshops and early years learning sessions are being planned together with specific sessions surrounding mental health and physical activity will also be organised.

Brandy said: “I am delighted to be working with the team in Bristol, and am hugely motivated by this crucial work to support hundreds of tenants in making their lives better, alongside the existing team who do an amazing job of support on the ground every day. This is a development unlike any other and everyone goes the extra mile for the tenants. I’m proud to play my part in that.”
